The vision for Tarlair’s resurgence was fiercely championed by the “Friends of Tarlair,” a group of 34 volunteers who dedicated over a decade to the cause. Their tireless efforts, from battling bureaucratic hurdles to securing substantial funding, prevented the lido from succumbing to proposals like becoming a lobster hatchery, ensuring its preservation as a historical and recreational landmark.
The pavilion’s successful debut sets the stage for the next phase: the meticulous restoration of Tarlair’s three saltwater pools.
