Among the prominent figures in the discussion were Bahrain’s King Hamad, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, and Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.
This dialogue coincided with the United States showing signs of progress in its negotiations with Iran, as officials indicated that an agreement might be on the horizon. The potential for an accord offers a glimmer of hope in addressing the long-standing issues that have plagued the region.
Since the conflict’s inception on February 28, the UAE and other Gulf nations have endured repeated missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran. Although a temporary ceasefire had previously eased hostilities, a resurgence of attacks has recently reignited concerns over the security of the region, making these discussions all the more critical.
