Tom Cruise Leads ‘Days of Thunder’ Sequel, Showcasing 2028 Racing Innovations

Tom Cruise is gearing up to return to the silver screen in one of his most iconic roles, as he steps back into the shoes of NASCAR driver Cole Trickle. The sequel to the 1990 hit film “Days of Thunder” is slated for a theatrical release on June 2, 2028. Cruise announced this exciting development at the Daytona International Speedway, just ahead of the NASCAR regular-season finale.

Joining Cruise in this much-anticipated sequel is Anne Hathaway, who will take on the role of a team owner and engineer, adding a fresh dynamic to the racing saga. Cruise is not only reprising his role in front of the camera but is also taking on the role of producer, collaborating with Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper to bring this project to life.
